Isidor Leviton founds the company in New York City. Leviton originally makes mantle tips for gas lighting, then expands to produce switches, outlets, light sockets, and other electrical parts.

1920s
Leviton offers more than 550 different electrical devices in its product catalogue by the end of the decade.

1960s
William Brand Co. and Rex Corporation merge to establish Brand-Rex; begin a long-term customer relationship with British Aerospace.

1970s
Brand-Rex opens European manufacturing operations in Glenrothes, Scotland, and becomes a major supplier to IBM by the end of the decade.

1980s
Leviton Network Solutions division forms in Seattle, Washington, USA, to support high-speed communications and data centres. Brand-Rex introduces innovative Air Blown Fibre Systems.

1990s-2000s
Leviton invests in innovative fibre optic network solutions, acquires Northwest Fiber Optics, Fiber Management Systems, and Fiber Connect.

2009
Leviton introduces the first third-party verified component-rated Category 6A System.

2011
Brand-Rex becomes the first network cabling company to achieve carbon neutral status.

2013
Leviton introduces high-density Opt-X® HDX fibre platform for data centres.

2015
Leviton acquires Brand-Rex and expands business across Europe; introduces award-winning Atlas-X1™ Premium Copper System.

2017
Leviton opens Data Centre Factory at its Glenrothes, Scotland facility, providing customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia with custom pre-terminated cabling and cassettes, with rapid delivery.

2018
Leviton introduces the industry's first end-to-end Category 8 RJ-45 solution.
